Greg Reid Booted From Florida State

By Melina Vastola, US Presswire
Greg Reid is a talented cornerback, no doubt.  When focusing on just his game, he looks like a potential first round prospect in the NFL Draft.  He has shut down many opposing receivers and is an accomplished punt returner as well.  He's a guy I thought was leaving early to enter the draft after a solid junior season in 2011.  Clearly, that would've been a decent option for Mr. Reid.

Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher, perhaps growing tired of the 'Criminole' monicker, has given the proverbial boot to Gred Reid after his second arrest in less than twelve months.  It is a tough move to make, but a necessary one for coach Fisher.  Even a talent as supreme as Reid's must sometimes have to learn his lesson the hard way.

Reid was perhaps the most talented of a rockstar trio of corners FSU put on the field last year.  Mike Harris graduated and was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the sixth round of last April's draft.  Reid has been dismissed from the team.  Now Xavier Rhodes is the lone cornerback.  Youth will have to play a large role in the 'Nole secondary.
